Prime+ EC is a plant growth regulator designed to control tobacco suckers. It is used on various tobacco types, including burley, cigar, dark, and flue-cured, as well as Maryland tobacco. The active ingredient is Flumiclorac-pentyl at a concentration of 15.0%. The product is applied to the soil where the leaf and stalk connect to target small suckers. For application, it can be used via precision hand application or powered spray equipment. When using powered spray equipment, it is recommended to use 3 full cone nozzles per row, directed downward toward the center of the row, at a height of 12-16 inches above the top of the stalk. Users should be aware that Prime+ EC will not control large suckers; these should be removed manually before application. The product can be mixed in tank combinations, but users must follow specific compatibility and precaution instructions. Handling requires personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant gloves (barrier laminate or Viton), chemical-resistant footwear (plus socks), protective eyewear, and a chemical-resistant apron when cleaning equipment. Avoid application during windy or dormant periods to prevent drift, and do not apply to wet or drought-stressed plants. The Re-entry Interval (REI) is 12 hours.
