Opello is a restricted-use insecticide featuring PLINAZOLIN® technology. Its active ingredient is isocycloseram at a concentration of 25.7%. It is designed for the control of targeted soil-dwelling insects in corn, popcorn, and seed corn. The product works by binding to the GABA receptor, resulting in a block of inhibitory neurotransmission, hyperexcitation, and death of target insects. Opello is classified as a Group 30 insecticide. It is intended for agricultural use and should be applied according to specific directions to manage insect resistance. Note that this product is a restricted-use pesticide due to acute eye irritation risks. It is highly toxic to bees and other pollinating insects; avoid application during bloom or when bees are actively foraging. It is also toxic to aquatic invertebrates. Always follow the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) and use required personal protective equipment, including chemical-resistant gloves, protective eyewear, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and socks.
