Atrazine St. Augustine Weed Killer is a Group 5 herbicide designed for the control of both emerged weeds and weeds from seeds in St. Augustine grass and Centipede grass. The active ingredient is Atrazine at 4.00%. It is intended for outdoor use on established turfgrass. One gallon of product can treat up to 14,816.3 square feet of listed grasses. For best results, applications should be made during both dormant and growing seasons, though results are typically best in early spring or dormant periods when weeds are small or not heavily growing. The product can be applied via conventional compressed air garden sprayers or backpack sprayers, though backpack sprayers are restricted to spot treatments only. Users must avoid applying when winds exceed 10 miles per hour or during temperature inversions to prevent spray drift. It is critical to avoid drift onto non-target plants, including nearby desirable plants, gardens, or water bodies. The product is toxic to aquatic invertebrates and can travel through soil to groundwater. Always wear personal protective equipment, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves, and shoes plus socks. Do not apply when temperatures exceed 90°F.
