Sil-MATRIX® LC is a broad-spectrum preventative fungicide, miticide, and insecticide used for various agricultural and ornamental applications. Its active ingredient is Potassium silicate (29%). It is designed to control fungal diseases, spider mites, aphids, and whiteflies. The product can be used on a wide variety of crops including vegetables (root, tuber, leafy, brassica, legume, fruiting, cucurbit, stalk/stem), fruits (citrus, pome, stone, berry/small fruit, tree nuts), grains, oilseeds, and ornamentals. It is also approved for use on turf. For optimal performance, it should be applied on a regular, scheduled preventative basis. Application rates vary by crop and target pest, typically ranging from a 0.25% to 1% solution diluted in 20 to 250 gallons of water per acre. For turf, it is applied at a 1% to 2% solution. Users should note that plant sensitivities vary; it is recommended to test on a small area first to check for phytotoxicity, especially when using near blooms of certain species like Geranium, Marigold, Pansy, and Petunia. When handling, wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, socks, shoes, chemical-resistant gloves, and goggles or a face shield. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not apply directly to water or areas where surface water is present.
