Perlan is a plant growth regulator designed for use on apples, non-bearing pears, and non-bearing sweet cherries. It contains two active ingredients: Gibberellins A4 (1.8%) and Benzyladenine (1.8%). The product is used to improve fruit type and size by increasing the development of calyx lobes and elongating the fruit. It can also be used to increase lateral bud break on non-bearing trees and to mitigate fruit set reduction caused by frost in apples by stimulating parthenocarpic fruit development. Application methods vary by crop and region. For most areas, a single application of 1-2 pints per acre is applied between early king bloom and early petal fall. In Washington, specific split application schedules are required. For orchard trees, rates typically range from 125 to 7500 ppm depending on the specific application (feathering, tree development, or latex application). Handling precautions: Wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves, protective eyewear, socks, and shoes. If using a sprayer, a chemical-resistant apron is recommended during mixing or loading. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, or clothing. If swallowed, call a poison control center or doctor immediately. If in eyes, rinse with water for 15-20 minutes. If on skin, wash with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. This product must be used in accordance with the Worker Protection Standard (WPS).
