Kyro is a postemergence herbicide used to control annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in corn, field seed corn, field silage corn, and popcorn. It contains three active ingredients: acetochloro (2-chloro-N-(methoxymethyl)-N-(2-methylbenzoyl)acetamide) at 30.0%, topramezone (2-methyl-4-[methoxymethyl]phenyl [5-hydroxy-1H-pyrazol-1-yl] dione) at 0.5%, and clopyralid (3,6-dichloropyridinecarboxylic acid) at 10.0%. The product is intended for use in corn crops to manage specific weed species including various grasses (like barnyardgrass and crabgrass) and broadleaf weeds (like morningglory and pigweed). Application rates vary based on the target weed and crop stage, typically ranging from 35 to 60 fl oz per acre. Users must follow specific mixing instructions, often requiring dilution in water, and should be aware of tank-mix compatibility with other products like glyphosate or nitrogen fertilizers. Handling requires personal protective equipment (PPE) including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, shoes plus socks, and waterproof gloves. Users should avoid application during high temperatures or high wind speeds to prevent drift and crop injury. The product has a restricted-entry interval (REI) of 12 hours.
