Karmex DF is a Group 7 herbicide containing 80.0% Diuron (3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethyurea) by weight. It is designed for the control of many annual and perennial grasses and herbaceous weeds. The product can be used as a preemergence herbicide to control germinating weeds or as a postemergence herbicide to control established weeds. It is suitable for use on various crops including alfalfa, barley, cotton, sugarcane, and certain fruit and nut crops, though specific limitations apply to orchards and groves. Application methods include ground application, aerial application, and tank mixing with other herbicides. When using as a postemergence application, adding a surfactant is recommended for best results on certain weeds. Users must be aware of drift management, especially during temperature inversions or high winds, to avoid damage to non-target areas. Handling requires specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves, and potentially a NIOSH-approved respirator depending on the application method. A restricted-entry interval (REI) of 12 hours applies to agricultural uses.
