Halex GT Herbicide is a systemic, postemergence herbicide designed for weed control in Glyphosate Tolerant (GT) field corn and preemergence weed control in grain sorghum. It utilizes a combination of three active ingredients: S-metolachlor (20.50%), Glyphosate, N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine (20.50%), and Mesotrione (2.05%). The product works by being absorbed through foliage and roots to control a variety of annual and perennial weeds. For corn, it is applied postemergence to actively growing weeds. For grain sorghum, it is applied as a preemergence treatment. Handling requires specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant gloves (barrier laminate, nitrile, or neoprene), chemical-resistant footwear, and headgear for overhead exposure. Users should avoid applying near water surfaces or in areas with high water tables due to leaching risks. It is critical to follow specific timing restrictions, such as not applying within 7 days of harvest for corn, and ensuring proper equipment cleaning to prevent cross-contamination.
