Basis Blend is a herbicide designed for the burndown and residual control of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. It contains two active ingredients: Rimsulfuron (20.5%) and Thifensulfuron-methyl (10.0%). This product is used in field corn, seed corn, and soybeans. For corn, it can be applied as a preplant/preemergence treatment or as a postemergence application. In soybeans, it is used as a preplant treatment. The herbicide is absorbed through the roots and leaf tissue of plants. It can be used alone or tank-mixed with other herbicides like glyphosate, paraquat, or sulfentrazone to expand its spectrum of control. When applying, technicians must be mindful of temperature inversions, wind drift, and potential impact on non-target vegetation and water sources. It is critical to follow specific mixing instructions, especially when using different container types, to ensure efficacy and safety.
