Accent Q is a water-dispersible granule herbicide used for postemergence weed control in field corn grown for grain, seed, silage, popcorn, and sweet corn. The active ingredient is Nicosulfuron (54.5%). It is designed to control various broadleaf weeds and grasses, including finger millet, wild oats, and various types of foxtails, though effectiveness varies by weed species and environmental conditions. The product should be applied as a granular formulation using a spreader or drop nozzle applicator. Users must be cautious of drift, especially when applying near sensitive crops or water sources. It is critical to follow specific timing and weather restrictions, such as avoiding application during high winds or temperature inversions, to prevent unintended damage to non-target plants. When mixing, ensure the product is thoroughly dispersed in the tank. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, shoes plus socks, and chemical-resistant gloves, to minimize exposure.
