SINATE HERBICIDE is a postemergence herbicide used for the control of emerged grass and broadleaf weeds in LibertyLink (LL) field corn and LL sweet corn. It contains two active ingredients: Topramezone (1.10%), a systemic herbicide that inhibits carotenoid biosynthesis (Group 27), and Glufosinate-ammonium (26.95%), a contact herbicide that inhibits glutamine biosynthesis (Group 10). This product is designed specifically for use in LibertyLink corn varieties. It is absorbed by plant foliage and works to control a wide range of annual weeds, including various grasses and broadleaf species. When applying, technicians should note that the product is highly effective under warm temperatures and high humidity with bright sunlight, but efficacy may be reduced during heavy dew, mist, or rain. For handling, applicators must wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves (barrier laminate, polyethylene, Viton ≥ 14 mils, rubber ≥ 14 mils, or polyvinyl chloride ≥ 14 mils), and shoes plus socks. It is critical to avoid drift to non-target plants, especially native corn, as the product can cause injury. Always follow Worker Protection Standard (WPS) requirements and observe the 12-hour restricted-entry interval (REI) for field corn scouting.
