Rose Rosette Alert June 19, 2025 We have recently observed an increase in cases of Rose Rosette Virus (RRV), a destructive disease that affects rose plants. This virus is transmitted by a tiny eriophyid mite and, unfortunately, once a plant is infected, there is no cure. Infected roses typically undergo severe changes, including excessive thorn production, distorted or clustered growth (known as “witch’s broom”), and abnormal red discoloration of leaves or stems.
