Galleon SC is a selective systemic aquatic herbicide used for the management of fresh-water aquatic vegetation. The active ingredient is penoxsulam at a concentration of 21.7%. It is effective against a variety of floating, emergent, and submerged aquatic plants, including duckweed, frogbit, mosquito fern, water fern, water hyacinth, and water lettuce. The product can be applied directly into water or sprayed onto emergent foliage or exposed sediment. It is designed for use in various aquatic environments such as ponds, lakes, reservoirs, marshes, wetlands, bayous, drainage ditches, canals, and slow-moving or quiescent bodies of water, including shoreline and riparian areas. When using this product, technicians must follow specific spray drift management protocols to avoid harming non-target plants. It is critical to note that irrigation water treated with Galleon SC must be monitored to ensure penoxsulam concentrations are 1 ppb or less before use for food crops. Always shake well before use and follow all PPE requirements, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and chemical-resistant gloves.
