Clearcast is a herbicide designed for the control of vegetation in aquatic and non-crop areas. Its active ingredient is imazamox (as ammonium salt of 2,4-[(4-methyl-6-oxo-1H-pyridazin-3-yl)amino]-6-methylpyridine-3-carboxylic acid) at a concentration of 12.1%. It is used to control a wide variety of emergent, floating, and shoreline species, including grasses, sedges, and certain broadleaf plants. The product can be applied via broadcast spray, foliar application, injection (hawk and squirt), or as a basal treatment. It is suitable for use in both indoor (managed water bodies) and outdoor aquatic environments. Application methods include ground application using spray equipment or aerial application via fixed-wing aircraft or helicopter. Users should note that imazamox is highly effective but requires careful management of application rates to avoid exceeding environmental limits. Handling requires specific PPE, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves, and protective eyewear. Always follow specific instructions for mixing and dilution to ensure efficacy and minimize environmental impact.
