TRUMPET EC is a restricted-use insecticide containing 78.0% Naled (1,2-dibromo-2,2-dichloroethyl dimethyl phosphate). It is designed for professional use by certified applicators to control mosquitoes, flies, and certain other nuisance insects. This product is intended for large-scale mosquito control in residential areas, municipalities, tidal marshes, swamps, woodlands, and agricultural areas. It can be applied via aerial application (fixed-wing or rotary aircraft) or ultra-low volume (ULV) methods. When applied aerially, fixed-wing aircraft must maintain a minimum height of 100 feet, and rotary aircraft must maintain at least 75 feet. The product is highly toxic to bees; applications should avoid times when bees are active and should not be applied if it might drift to blooming crops or weeds. It is also highly toxic to fish, aquatic invertebrates, and wildlife. Handling requires significant personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant clothing, gloves (barrier laminate, nitrile, or Viton), and NIOSH-approved respiratory protection. Due to the risk of cholinesterase inhibition, users should monitor for symptoms like headaches, nausea, or dizziness and seek medical attention if they occur. This product must be used in a closed system to prevent contact with handlers.
Aerial application requires specific heights (100ft for fixed-wing, 75ft for rotary). Avoid application when wind speed is $\geq$ 1 mph or temperature is < 50°F.
