Trigard OMC is an insecticide designed specifically as a seed treatment for controlling onion maggots in bulb onions. It is formulated as a wettable powder containing 75.0% Cyromazine (CAS No. 66215-27-8) as the active ingredient. This product is intended for use by licensed commercial seed treatment companies only. It works by treating the seeds before planting to provide protection against onion maggot infestations. When using this product, users should be aware of environmental hazards, such as the potential for contamination of water, including surface water, interstitial areas, or groundwater, especially in areas with permeable soils or shallow water tables. For pest management efficacy, it is recommended to rotate Trigard OMC with products from other chemical classes and to integrate it with non-chemical strategies like crop rotation and field sanitation. Users should follow specific rotational crop intervals, such as 0 days for leafy vegetables (except leafy Brassica), 30 days for sweet corn, radishes, and carrots, and 300 days for any other crops. Note that not all bulb vegetables grown from seed treated with Trigard OMC within 60 days of planting may be suitable for certain uses.
