Clariva pn is a biological nematicide used as a seed treatment to protect soybean and sugarbeet crops against specific nematodes. The active ingredient is Pasteuria nishizawae – Pn1, which contains at least 1.0 x 10^10 spores per mL. This product is intended for use in commercial seed treatment applications only; it should not be used in hopper boxes, planter boxes, or for on-farm seed treatment. When applying to soybeans, the rate is 1.0 to 3.0 fl oz per 100 lb of seed. For sugarbeets, the rate is 0.034 to 1.35 fl oz per 100,000 seeds. The product should be mixed with water and applied directly to seed with inoculants or other seed treatment coatings. It is critical not to store Clariva pn mixed in slurries for more than 72 hours. Handling requires personal protective equipment, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and shoes plus socks. If inhaled, move the person to fresh air. Avoid breathing spray mist. The product must be stored between 32°F and 100°F. Do not apply directly to water or areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark.
