Octane 2% SC is a nonselective contact herbicide containing 2.0% pyraflufen-ethyl. It is designed for the control of broadleaf weeds and the control of silvery thread moss. It is suitable for use in nurseries, ornamental plantings, sod farms, Christmas tree farms, and established ornamental turf. Because it is a contact herbicide, it requires thorough coverage of the target plant to be effective. For best results, it should be applied when weather conditions favor minimal drift and it should rainfast one hour after application. Users should note that this product is toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates and should be used carefully to avoid water contamination. It is also toxic to plants and may adversely impact non-target organisms, including pollinators, if drift occurs.
