Musketeer is a turf growth regulator designed for growth management and quality improvement of turfgrasses, specifically formulated for use on golf courses. It contains three active ingredients: Flurpirimod (5.6%), Paclobutrazol (5.6%), and Trinexapac-ethyl (1.4%). The product works by suppressing plant hormone gibberellic acid (GA) to result in more compact, dense growth, reduced stem elongation, and shorter leaf blades. It is primarily used on perennial turfgrasses, including bentgrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, and Hybrid Bermudagrass. It can also be used to manage Poa annua populations. Application is typically done via broadcast spray using a boom-type sprayer. Key benefits include improved turf color, increased density, improved water use efficiency, and reduced mowing frequency. Note that application timing is critical; avoid applying during periods of extreme heat, moisture stress, or temperature inversions. In New York State, this product is classified for 'RESTRICTED USE' under 6NYCRR Part 326.
