Captain® XTR is a copper-based herbicide designed for use in still or flowing aquatic sites, including golf courses, ornamental ponds, irrigation/fire ponds, aquaculture, lakes, reservoirs, and drainage systems. The active ingredient is a Copper Ethanolamine Complex (28.2%), providing a metallic copper equivalent of 9.1%. It is used to control a broad range of green and blue-green (cyanobacteria) algae, including filamentous, planktonic, and macrophytic types. It can also be used to control submerged weed species susceptible to copper. For flowing water, the product may be applied via drip or metering pump systems. Application rates vary based on algae type and infestation level, generally ranging from 0.2 to 1.0 ppm copper.
