Aquashade Plus is a water colorant used to manage aquatic plant growth by absorbing specific wavelengths of light required for photosynthesis. It contains Erioglaucine (30.45%) and Tartrazine (2.45%) as active ingredients. The product is designed for use in natural and manmade lakes, ponds, golf course ponds, and water turfs to suppress the growth of underwater plants, algae blooms, and filamentous green algae. It is most effective in water depths of less than 2 feet. The product works by tinting the water a light aqua-blue color. For best results, it should be applied as a pre-emergent before the growing season or applied directly to ice in freezing climates. When applying, the product can be poured into a container and applied directly to the water or used with aeration devices like fountains for quicker dispersion. Note that the color and effectiveness may be lost in waters with active chlorine residuals, such as treated swimming pools. Always follow label directions for dosage based on water volume to ensure proper suppression of target vegetation.
