DES-X is an insecticidal soap concentrate containing 4.07 lb of Potassium Salts of Fatty Acids per gallon. It acts as a contact killer for various insect and mite pests, including aphids, mealybugs, whiteflies, scale insects, spider mites, and tent caterpillars. It is effective against adult, larval, and nymph stages. This product is OMRI listed for organic production and can be used up to the day of harvest on edible crops. It is suitable for use in greenhouses and on various crops including fruits, vegetables, ornamentals, and herbs. When applying, ensure thorough coverage of all plant parts, including the undersides of leaves. Note that it should not be used on certain sensitive plants (like grapes or certain ornamentals) under specific conditions, and it is incompatible with sulfur or products applied within 3 days of sulfur application. Always test for plant sensitivity before widespread use.

PPE required protective eyewear (goggles, face shield or safety glasses), coveralls worn over short-sleeved shirt and short pants, chemical-resistant footwear and socks, chemical-resistant gloves (barrier laminate, butyl rubber ≥ 14mils, nitrile rubber ≥ 14mils, neoprene rubber ≥ 14mils, polyvinyl chloride ≥ 14mils, or viton ≥ 14mils), chemical-resistant headgear for overhead exposure, and chemical-resistant apron when cleaning equipment.

Timing & weather

Spray and harvest the same day.
Do not spray during full sun; spray in morning or evening/overcast.
Do not apply when temperatures are higher than 90°F if combining with sulfur (though mixing with sulfur is prohibited).

Do not apply directly to water, areas where surface water is present, or intertidal areas.
Do not mix with sulfur or apply within 3 days of sulfur application.
Incompatible with Manzate and dithane products.
Do not use on yellow skinned nectarines if fruit marking is a concern.
Do not use on table grapes once they become 6-7 mm in diameter.
Not approved for use in California (for certain crops like hops, banana, pineapple, coffee).
