Capreno 1 is a Group 2, 4, 5, 7 herbicide used for the preemergence and postemergence selective control of annual broadleaf and perennial weeds in field corn. The active ingredients are metolachlor-S-methyl (34.5%), metolachlor (34.5%), and acetochlor (31.0%). It is designed for use in field corn crops, including silage, white corn, and seed corn. Application methods include ground application using ground equipment only; do not apply by air. For preemergence applications, it can be used in conventional, tillage, or no-tillage systems. For postemergence applications, it is effective against weeds that have not yet reached significant growth stages. Users should be aware of potential runoff and leaching into groundwater, especially in sandy soils. Always maintain a buffer zone from sensitive habitats and follow specific drift management practices to protect non-target plants. Handling requires specific PPE, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves (polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride), and protective eyewear.
