Assure II is a systemic herbicide used for the control of various annual and perennial grasses. The active ingredient is Quizalofop-p-ethyl (10.3% by weight), which works by inhibiting the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase) in grasses. It is designed for use on various crops, including corn, soybeans, wheat, and more, as well as non-crop areas like fence rows and roadsides. The product can be applied as a solo application or tank-mixed with broadleaf herbicides, though specific precautions apply. For spot treatments of small areas, a 0.375% v/v solution is required using either a crop oil concentrate or a nonionic surfactant. Users should be aware that the product contains petroleum distillates; avoid contact with eyes, skin, or clothing, and do not induce vomiting if swallowed. It is critical to follow weed resistance management practices, such as rotating herbicides with different modes of action, to prevent resistance development.
