BT NOW is a water-soluble formulation used for agricultural pest control. Its active ingredient is Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki (BTK), which consists of fermentation products, spores, and insecticidal toxins. This product is designed to control various lepidopteran pests, including various species of caterpillars, armyworms, corn earworms, and various moths, across a wide range of crops including fruits, vegetables, grains, and ornamentals. It is applied via spray or irrigation systems. When used through irrigation, it should be applied as a suspension in water. Users should note that the product is effective against larvae; timing is critical to apply when larvae are small. Handling requires specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant gloves, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and protective eyewear. If using a closed system, handlers must be provided with appropriate PPE. In case of skin contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. The label notes that the product should not be applied to areas where water is present or to interditch areas below the mean high-water mark.
