DEADLINE GT is a soil surface treatment designed for the control of snails and slugs. Its active ingredient is Metaldehyde (2,4,6,8-Tetramethyl-1,3,5,7-tetraoxycyclo-octane) at a concentration of 3.0%. It is used on various crops including ornamentals, listed small fruits and berries, citrus, listed vegetable crops, and grass grown for seed. Application methods vary by crop: for example, it can be applied as a perimeter treatment for clover or soybean, in bands under citrus tree canopies, or via broadcast application for certain grasses and vegetables. For many crops, it should be applied to dry soil and not directly to foliage. This product is highly toxic to dogs and domestic animals if ingested and can be harmful to children. It is also toxic to aquatic gastropods, birds, and mammals. When handling, technicians must wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, shoes plus socks, and chemical-resistant gloves (such as butyl, nitrile, neoprene, natural rubber, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, or Viton). Always follow specific application rates and intervals provided in the label tables for each specific crop to ensure efficacy and compliance with the Worker Protection Standard.
