Bidrin 8 is a water-miscible insecticide containing 82% Dicrotophos (Dimethyl phosphate of 3-hydroxy N,N-dimethyl-cis-crotonamide). It is a restricted-use pesticide designed for use on cotton to control various pests including thrips, cotton fleahoppers, aphids, spider mites, grasshoppers, boll weevils, leaf foot bugs, and plant bugs. The product is applied via air or ground application to provide uniform coverage. It is specifically labeled for early season use (emergence to pre-bloom) and late season use (first bloom to 30 days prior to harvest). Handling requires strict adherence to engineering controls, such as using a closed delivery system to minimize drift and exposure. Must be used in a closed delivery system. Mix required amount of BIDRIN 8 in sufficient water to provide uniform coverage.

Worker safety

Re-entry interval (REI) 3 days

PPE required Mixers, loaders, applicators, and other handlers must wear: Long-sleeve shirt and long pants; Shoes; chemical-resistant gloves (Barrier Laminate, Butyl Rubber > 14 mils, Nitrile Rubber > 14 mils, Neoprene Rubber > 14 mils, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) > 14 mils, or Viton > 14 mils); chemical-resistant apron; chemical-resistant footwear plus socks; and protective eyewear. For overhead exposure, use chemical-resistant headgear. If using motorized ground equipment or applicators, use a NIOSH-approved elastomeric half mask respirator with organic vapor (OV) cartridges and a combination N, R, or P filter (or NIOSH-approved gas mask with OV canisters; or NIOSH-approved air-purifying respirator with OV cartridges and combination HE filters).

Timing & weather

Restricted Use Pesticide: For retail sale to, and use only by, Certified Applicators or persons under direct supervision of a Certified Applicator.
